Dear Parents,
We see you. You have an overwhelming desire for your young writer to succeed both in their writing career and their life. You want to help them grow, but you don't know exactly how. You've enrolled them in The Young Writers Workshop or The Author Conservatory, but what's next? How can you support them daily in their writing and prepare them for future success?
This year, we're delighted to present a new opportunity catered specifically to YOU. Welcome to The YDubs Conference 2023 Parent Sessions!
Parent Sessions
Three mornings during the conference will be set apart to aid the mothers, fathers, and other guardians of young writers in discovering how to best nourish their child. For an hour and a half each day from August 8th to August 10th, highly-successful authors and coaches will train you directly. Together, we will actively discuss the best methods and techniques for success.
9:30am - 11:00am, August 8th:
Marita Wilson, an instructor at the YWW, will teach on the stress and anxieties writers face. Maintaining mental health is important for every aspect of life, and just like with any career, authors walk a fine line between burnout and success.
9:30am - 11:00am, August 9th:
Kara Swanson, co-founder of The Author Conservatory and author of the award-winning Heirs of Neverland series, will teach on "How to Know if Your Young Writer is Ready to Publish." This speech will answer common questions parents may have as their child looks toward publishing and guide parents toward mentoring their children in maturity and helping them along the path to publishing.
9:30am - 11:00am, August 10th:
Josiah DeGraaf, an instructor at the YWW, will teach a parent session.
