FAQ
You ask, we answer.
Your question not here? Reach out via our contact form!
Can Non-YDubbers Come?
Yes! This conference is open to all YDubbers and Author students, including friends of them. If you have a writer friend who's not on one of the programs, you can still absolutely invite them to join us.
Something Just Came Up. Can I Get a Refund?
Yes and no. If you'd like a refund on your ticket, T-shirt, or notebook, we cannot provide one. This is due to the high risk that comes with a student-coordinated event. However, our on-site hotel rooms can be refunded at any time (for any reason!) before June 1st, 2023.
What is Indie Day?
Indie Day, August 9th, is a conference day set apart for independent publishing awareness. It features varied speeches by highly-impressive indie authors, highlighting what independent publishing is and how to do it correctly.
I Can't Attend This Year, But I Really Want To! 😭
Aw, we'll miss you, friend! But not to worry. We offer virtual tickets, allowing writers to view the sessions online. Check them out on the registration page!
Will Meals Be Provided?
Unfortunately, while we did have the privilege of offering food at the previous conference, we cannot say the same for this one. While snacks might be available at select times, it will be up to attendees to cover their own meals, Here is a sample list of local restaurants and their distance from the conference center:
Hens & Hogs BBQ — 7.1 miles
Sonic — 7.3 miles
The Video Corner Cafe — 7.8 miles
Mi Pueblito — 8.1 miles
Subway — 8.1 miles
Can My Parent Stay Without a Ticket?
Sadly, no. Even if your mom or dad doesn't wish to attend parent sessions, they still need to purchase a parent ticket in order to stay on grounds during conference events. This does NOT apply if they're staying in a hotel room—only if they're physically in the conference building. This is because of the venue's limited legal capacity.
Is There a Dress Code?
The conference does not have an official dress code, no, but we do ask that you attend modestly and in a way that honors God. One thing to note is that this event is not like a summer camp. So while you can come as casually as you wish, the general aura will be a bit more to the formal side.
